I did some lunging work with Eddie. For the exercise, he had on a 13-14″ western saddle and his bridle. After a good bit of lunging, I got him to come to me and stand. Then I had him stand while I leaned on the saddle and placed more weight into it. We finished with me being able to put a foot into the stirrup and pull up, leaning across the saddle. He stood still for this whole process (minus shifting for adjusting to the weight changes). On top of all of this, I did not have a lead on him. So he stood on his own accord. I’m very pleased with this progress.
